Part of my 'yadda yadda yadda' had been St. John discovering Jane's true identity, helping her to get her inheritance, and admitting he and his sisters are her first cousins.  Consequently Jane is able to return to Thornfield in a much more dignified manner....

While the house party is still going on (right after the gory scene of Mr. Mason being stabbed) , Jane leaves Thornfield to return to Gateshead ...to her Aunt Reed's death bed.  I cut all of that, because really : who really cares?  The only real information was that Jane's Paternal Uncle (the Reeds were from her Mother's side) had been searching ( Read more... )

I'm not entirely satisfied with this, but it was hard to decide what was necessary when clearly most of the conversation seemed pretty unimportant...    I wanted to find a way to imply that Mr. Rochester was already in love with Jane and setting about to seduce her, because although it isn't blatant, never the less it IS forshadowed....

Well I was very excited to do this one, as you can tell, it was the words: the story I would be telling (that I thought Chapter 11 told) which really is the important feature this time, not so much the drawings/characters....
